Next stop, On The Road to Vail, Colorado, Lake Havasu, Arizona

On the way to Vail I stopped at Lake Havasu to work at a Kettle Korn stand for Bob Williams who was also the owner of "Little River Fish Site" in Kodiak, Alaska where I had been working for the summer. Bob and Bette own a Kettle Korn stand and were booked to sell popcorn at the "Lake Havasu Rock Fest" and I was there to help.

Well the popcorn business wasn't so good and I didn't work to much, but I did make friends with Todd of Fukt-Shirts (parental advisory recommended due to sexplicit language). Todd and his crew were in the campsite next to mine and vending shirts right next to the Kettle Korn stand. Todd helped me get my site for free and we hung out for the whole concert (four nights and three days). The Fukt-Shirts stand was probably the most popular of the entire show.  By the last day of the Rock Fest everybody was wearing one of Todd's shirts.

Here's one of my shirts.

Here's the view from my campsite and it's also the view from the concert site.

The stage and setting.

Some of my favorite bands included, Cheap Trick

Warren Haynes and  Government Mule

The Blues Travelers

Slightly Stoopid

The Hollywood Allstarz a "Super Band" built of "Old School" Heavy Metal Musicians"

Fighting Chance

Fighting Chance, the fans favorite!

After the show was over it was time to hit the road again. From Lake Havasu I headed deeper into the Arizona Desert

North of Phoenix

From Lake Havasu I went to Flagstaff to visit my aunt Karen and Erica Roe (now Erica Ely). From Flagstaff I went to Pheonix to visit Rob Crawford both of whom are ex-Yosemit locals now in Arizona. On the way north to Utah I found some petroglyphs and a perfect arrowhead in the middle of no where when I pulled over to take a nap and stretch my legs.

These petroglyphs are in a different location in the Black Dragon Canyon, Utah.

The glyphs have been outlined in white chalk, presumably to make them easier to see.

A foto of my van from the mouth of the Black Dragon.

After some time I finally made it to Colorado.

Silverton, Colorado

Silverton is a scenic old town and has a good mountain for those who love back country skiing.

The Next Stop Boulder, Colorado
To visit one of My Favorite Families The Perrins
Once I got to Colorado I went to Boulder (actually Longmont) to visit the Perrins who like myself migrated from Yosemite to Colorado but unlike me they are year round residents.

Maya definitely prefers the adult rides.

Naomi Perrin (MImi)

Maya Perrin

Annetta Perrin, originally from Nuremberg, Germany.

World renown big wall climber Jeff Perrin.

Near Boulder there is lots to do in the Rockies.

Including hiking

Or fishing

And Gold Minning.

But I think snowboarding is our favorite. That's Maya.

That's Haley Perrin Jeff's niece.

Haley and Maya apres ski

Jeff and another Yosemite rock climber (can't remember his name) we met while we were out at a pub in the town of Lions one night.

Me and Dave another Yosemite transplant in Boulder, Colorado.

Boulder, Colorado equals fun but eventually I had to move on to Vail, Colorado.
